Careers / International Mobility

At Arthur D. Little, you can reside in a foreign country for one year. London, Paris, Dubai, Singapore - anything is possible! As part of our International Mobility Program, we allow consultants to gain experience internationally for a limited period of time in one of our offices around the world. This opportunity is offered to consultants who achieve excellent results and exhibit a high degree of development potential. You can take a period of six months to two years to get to know new cultures and gain valuable experiences in international teams. Christoffer Möller shares his view on the international experience below:

Tell us about your background

My name is Christoffer Möller, 28 years old, and I have been working at ADL since March 2012. Prior to ADL, I studied Industrial Engineering and Management in Lund, Sweden.

Give us a short description of your experiences from the program

At the end of 2012 I moved to Dubai for a one year transfer. During this transfer I had the opportunity to learn about case work, business, and office cultures in one of the world’s most booming regions. In addition to this, I got to know new colleagues and friends both within and outside ADL. It was truly a great year with many learning’s and takeaways, including a very limited vocabulary of Arabic. I have thereafter continued with a transfer to Germany that started in November 2013.

What was best about Dubai?

The greatest thing with Dubai is the location of the Emirate businesswise, serving as a business hub in the Middle East. This allows our office to operate in e.g. Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, which enables you as a consultant to quickly gain experience from a variety of different markets and industries.

What have you learned from your time abroad?

Firstly, I have got to know the business culture in the Middle East which is completely different from the one in the Nordics. Secondly, it is always great to extend your personal network within as well as outside your firm. There are simply so many great people out there to get to know and learn from.

Would you recommend the program to others?

Absolutely! No question. You learn a lot, get to know a variety of people, and coincidently you keep your home office as a foundation. I have already started a new transfer in Germany and I believe this demonstrates my warm recommendations to execute a transfer within ADL.
